COL VETORAZ In the magic of iconic hills, a single destination to experience endless sensory journeys—from the land, to tasting, to art

The stunning hills of Valdobbiadene DOCG, a true paradise nestled between two other jewels of the Veneto—Venice and the Dolomites—are renowned worldwide for their historic winemaking vocation. Part of the UNESCO World Heritage, they form a cultural landscape rich in excellence, stretching from the scenery itself all the way to the wine.

Immersed in such a setting, Col Vetoraz stands as tangible proof of how a single destination can bring together infinite sensory experiences. Its headquarters, set at 400 meters above sea level, overlooks the entire valley, offering visitors who step onto the panoramic terrace a breathtaking view of vineyards that unfold like delicate embroidery across the green landscape.

From here, guests enter the spacious Welcome Room, fully equipped and elegantly furnished, where a young, multilingual team trained in hospitality welcomes visitors with professionalism, engaging them in personalized tasting and sensory experiences. One of the highlights is the guided educational tasting journeys, designed to provide deeper insight into the history, production methods, and different expressions of the Col Vetoraz style. There are six options available, offering a complete immersion into the authenticity of Valdobbiadene DOCG sparkling wines and allowing
guests to savor their renowned harmony and elegance.

From wine-only tastings featuring 5, 7, or 9 labels—ideal for discovering the soul of these sparkling wines and identifying the one best suited to individual tastes—the experience extends to pairings with traditional local flavors. It begins with Venetian sopressa and traditional preserved vegetables, moves on to a selection of cheeses and preserves, and culminates in a touch of refined elegance with an exclusive selection of blinis topped with caviar from the renowned Caviar Giaveri company, accompanied by alpine white yogurt. Pairing experiences last approximately one hour. All options are available in Italian and English, by reservation only or purchasable online:

But that’s not all. In recent years, the company has also launched the “Terre d’Arte” project—an initiative that renews its narrative every four months through installations by young local sculptors. This meeting between wine and art has proven highly successful, captivating visitors and gaining increasingly enthusiastic acclaim. It is a vibrant and generative dialogue, bringing together those who cultivate the land and those who shape matter: different languages united by a single vision rooted in listening, respect, and care—the same values that shape every creation.

Col Vetoraz Spumanti S.p.A.
Located in the heart of the Valdobbiadene DOCG area, the Col Vetoraz winery sits at nearly 400 meters above sea level,
at the highest point of the hill from which it takes its name, part of the renowned Cartizze hills. It was here that the Miotto family settled in 1838, developing vine cultivation from the very beginning. In 1993, Francesco Miotto, a descendant of this family, together with agronomist Paolo De Bortoli and oenologist Loris Dall’Acqua, founded the present-day Col Vetoraz—a small wine-producing company that has successfully innovated, grown, and in just 25 years reached the pinnacle of Valdobbiadene DOCG production, both in terms of quantity and quality. Today, the winery vinifies over 2,300,000 kg of DOCG grapes annually, from which approximately 1,250,000 bottles are produced. Now, having reached its 30-year milestone, the challenge is to maintain this important position over time. A deep respect for tradition, a profound love for the land, meticulous care of the vineyards, and a rigorous approach to the entire production chain and the crafting of its prestigious cuvées have, over the years, enabled the winery to achieve wines of excellence and earn outstanding results in the most prestigious national and international wine competitions.

New look for Mionetto Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG

An important milestone in promoting quality: Mionetto’s renowned Luxury Collection is now available in supermarkets with Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry.

This first reference will be followed by other sparkling wines, including Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze DOCG Dry and Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Rive di S. Stefano Brut, which will complement the line to offer an increasingly complete and prestigious range in the retail channel.

Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry, the flagship of the collection, is the result of refined grapes from the hilly areas of the Prosecco Superiore DOCG region, which give it unmistakable aromas and flavours of apple, acacia flowers and wisteria. With a pale straw yellow colour, it stands out for its harmony and elegance and its fine, persistent perlage. Extremely versatile, it is suitable for a wide range of occasions and pairings.

For Mionetto, this sparkling wine represents the highest expression of the Prosecco Superiore DOCG territory, where the winery has been based since 1887, combining excellent quality with a refined and elegant design inspired by the tradition of Venetian master glassmakers. A project that tells the story of the winemaking excellence of its land of origin and the world-renowned art of glassmaking.

The refined texture, 3D embossed logo, orange capsule and foil crest contribute to the prestige, recognisability and consistency with the brand’s visual identity. The packaging is designed to consolidate and elevate Mionetto’s presence on the shelf, conveying the high quality of the product at first glance.

‘With the introduction of Valdobbiadene DOCG into our collection of wines of the highest stylistic expression, we want to offer consumers an even richer drinking experience, one that best expresses the values of authenticity, elegance and quality that have always distinguished Mionetto,’ says Paolo Bogoni, Chief Marketing Officer and Management Board Executive. ‘It is a step that allows us to promote the territory and tradition with a super-premium positioning on the shelf.’

With this new addition, Mionetto once again confirms its ability to convey a message of quality and superior style in the world of sparkling wines.

The official inauguration of the Committee for the nomination hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore as site of world heritage at UNESCO took place on wednesday july 25th at Villa Brandolini in Solighetto (Treviso). The presentation was made by by the Consorzio for the Protection of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, the Province of Treviso, IPA and the Chamber of Commerce. The common objective of the project is to get the Unesco World Heritage recognition and, more generally, to give greater visibility to the hills of Prosecco Superiore and its vineyards, places that have inspired the poet of the countryside Andrea Zanzotto in his writings, and those in which walked and meditated Toniolo, an eminent sociologist recently beatified by Pope Benedict XVI.

A decisive step

During the press conference, the four organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding establishing the constitution of the committee which will now take a strategic role. A decisive step will now be made as the committee is established: the preparation of the technical file including the documentation that will give strong arguments for the application to obtain the listing of the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene as part of World Heritage Sites.

The technical file will explain in detail the reasons for the nomination which reside primarily in the ancient history of the area and which shows a stunning landscape where the man with his own work has embroidered with vineyards, creating a real unique and hilly landscape.  We can’t forget the presence on the territory of renowned artists as GianBattista Cima, one of the great Venetian painters of Landscape. In these hills the ancient tradition of viticulture has been married to the culture of the sparkling wine, thanks to the foundation in 1876 of the first italian enologic school in Conegliano . A perfect combination that gave rise to one of the wines that represent the pride of Italy: the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore, today certainly among the most famous sparkling wines in the world. The UNESCO project, not only represents an extraordinary opportunity to promote tourism in the area but also an opportunity to preserve the hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene through a sustainable land use, protecting the environment from degradation and promoting its enhancement.
